Going on a hiatus.
I have rewritten these words about a hundred times because it's simply not easy for me what I'm about to say.
The last few weeks I've been thinking about a lot of things. How Death Shred evolved from being a small company - selling t-shirts from the back of my van - to a full grown business with a following worldwide. How I got back up every time again to come back harder and stronger, even though bad luck punched me in the face numerous times throughout these eight years. But most importantly, how fortunate I've been that the greatest people on this planet - yes, that means you - always have had my back.
And even though this year has been one of the raddest - I mean, living legends Slash & Duff of Guns N' Roses even showed the world they're a fan of the brand - I do feel that I need to take a step back from it all and why not go out swinging, at the peak of it all.
I'm not gonna lie, running an independent brand on your own is a constant struggle nowadays, especially with social media changing in the benefit of big corporate businesses and the continuously sales online. This most definitely had an impact on us as a brand the last few months and will continue to make it hard on DIY businesses all over the world. Slowly but surely we're falling off the radar and the rebellious part of me simply refuses to walk the line.
Therefor I decided it's time to go on an indefinite hiatus, even though it kinda breaks my heart. Maybe I'll be back in a few months/years or maybe it won't happen at all. Only time will tell.
The only thing I do know is that I'll miss all of you and I really can't thank you enough for being a part of this big adventure. I couldn't have done it without you. You all made this way more than just a brand and you will all remain as family to me.
In the next few months I'll be selling all the last items in stock so if you still want some Death Shred, it may be your very last chance to do so, so don't wait on it.
Please help me to end this journey for now with a smile and show your support by picking up some stuff. And if you do, please use the code GOODBYE to get an extra 30% discount on your entire order.
It feels so weird to be saying this but I guess this is it, even though you'll still hear from me in the next few months. I really don't like to say farewell so I'm only saying goodbye, for now.
Love you all.
